About CISC

A place to arrive.
A community to belong to.

CISC supports newcomer-immigrants as they settle into life in Cochrane, while creating space for every culture and heritage to be seen, shared, and celebrated.

01 / Our story

Welcome grew from a local idea.

In 2015, local service providers and community members began gathering support around a simple belief: people arriving in Cochrane should be able to find practical help and a genuine sense of belonging.

That community effort grew into the Cochrane Immigrant Services Committee, a local nonprofit serving newcomer-immigrants in Cochrane and the surrounding area. CISC brings together staff, volunteer directors, ambassadors, community volunteers, partner agencies, local organizations, and businesses to make welcome something people can experience.
